Just wanted to share with you today something I wrote...take it for what it's worth.

Darkness vs. the Song

Morning has arrived the inner quaking has stopped the stinging memory turning everything inside out darkness and light wrestling with one another
fear attacks courage desperation creeps up from the depths
the battle is hopeless powerful forcible prevailing
empty and numb without a trace of emotion sucked out by a paramount source
what does the future hold how does one fight the darkness
the horizon is strangely out of focus dim, unlit so far away why can't it be seen why can't it be reached
please, someone...anyone... the light, it's fading fear is waiting at the door
night is falling again the stars have veiled their light the moon hides her face swallowed in black
something lurks there... what is it? who are you?
where is truth and light? has she forgotten her place or she too busy in a far off place? or has she too been engulfed by the night?
and then the music plays... softly at first...mysterious and rough filling the thick air chasing the demons of the night
darkness flees at her sound unable to tolerate her melody the notes scatter across the path she presses on against her foe
stronger and stronger the harmony builds like a single thread woven into the loom of painful memories she seeks to create beauty within the ashes of defeat but the task is great and the cost is high
but her song rings true building in momentum as she moves heading for the distant horizon seeking to show the way illuminate the path
the shaking returns within the walls crumble they cannot compete against the song they will not be rebuilt not this time
this time there is a song albeit distant....constant rising, growing, filling the dark chasing the demons with her aria
Morning has arrived the inner quaking has stopped the stinging memory turning everything inside out darkness and light wrestling with one another fear attacking courage desperation creeps up from the depths
the battle is auspicious powerful forcible prevailing
darkness and fear cannot compete against her song she is sweet, beautiful....light
the powerful melody renders the night impotent weak subordinate
and then it illuminates itself... the horizon in focus bright, visible and almost...just almost within reach
