How to wear a casual dress and love it - fashion over 40 and teen fashion
I do love me a good dress. But usually with heels and a fun occasion in mind. Sometimes the casual dress isn't as easy to pull off. Finding the right shoes. The right leg wear. The right jewelry. Ok, the jewelry part is never a problem. But back to the dress, or even a skirt for that matter.
I do love a good dress.
Isabel and I have a few ideas. Keep it simple. Keep it clean. It's all in the attitude ladies. Of course a few golden retrievers don't hurt.Keep it simple. Keep it clean. It's all in the attitude ladies.
Isabel rocked the short skirt. The benefit of being a teen. Adding tall boots interrupts the length which is perfect. The downside of being a tall lanky girl? EVERYTHING is short. Seriously. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Pairing a slim skirt with a bulky cozy sweater is the best combination. The boots (mine) add enough accessory. Jewelry would make this ensemble too busy. But I must say the golden retrievers are a perfect add in! :) I love dresses. Love them. But I don't get to dress up too often. Not really conducive to studio work. Unless I have a real "occasion" it's typically only Sunday morning church that gives me reason to dress up. Naturally I gravitate to something a bit more casual..and boots....always boots. This dress is the perfect blend of casual and comfortable. Add a fun back detail along with a strappy bra and I'm totally sold. In the morning when it was a bit more chilly I added a scarf and jean jacket. Perfection. I would have put it back on for photos but we had a house full of college students and then crazy dogs. Just imagine the rest. K? Tights in grey break up the outfit enough without distracting. And these boots will ever remain my favorite. Since the dress is a simple black it is super easy, and somewhat necessary to add jewelry. Again, that part is pretty easy for me. Crazy. I know. Layering necklaces is not only a big trend, it's fun and easy. Pick different lengths and textures. The cross necklace is pretty much my staple...and from there I went short and long. Winter is coming. Soon snow will cover the ground and coats and hats will a must have accessory. I'm ok with that. I have to be. I live in Michigan. But until then I'm baring as much skin as possible. LOL. Sorry, it's true.
